We are poets before our time
Feeling what the masses will only let in later
When the night is down like a soft blanket covering their over stressed minds
When it is safe to know how 'genuine' feels
Then they will accept what seemed too forward of us to say
Take it in and reply 'that was wise'
Because we are poets before our time
Screaming "ICE BURG!" to the captain of society
Embracing the fact that we will sink beneath the waves watching as the life boats fill
Knowing that when they reach the shore they will look back and wish they had listened
Because we are poets before our time
And readers after our moment has passed
