I was writing you poem, a Poem that described everything



A Poem that spoke from the very depth of my soul



That would allow you to see my heart in all its fragilty



The Valentine Day poem that I wrote for you was something



To make you weep with joy and smile with delight



It was my Poem to you



It described how it was our first day being together



How this one day allowed you to belong to me



When it was impossible to even smell your hair



How we belonged to each other for one day



I wrote a Poem for you



And this is about that Poem I wrote



Because the poem took me so Long to write



And it’s still not completed



I struggled for months, trying to make it perfect



Something worthy to belong to you



And I realized something



I will never make it perfect enough



It will never be complete



The Poem I wrote for you is a poem of our lives together



A Poem of how from nothing, we became something



The Miracle of Birth



Not of a child, or of any life



The Birth of Our Love



I wrote about the anxiety I felt



And how I tried to build up the courage to ask



I wrote about my fear that you would laugh at me



And the Perfect Joy I felt when you said yes



I wrote this poem for you, so that you could understand



That from every waking moment of my life



I’ve waited for that day



Valentines Day was the first day of our love



And I will always remember it



Ten years from now



when we are married with children



and one of them comes home



with a card that says “Happy valentines day Mommy”



I will smile



Yes because it’s our child



But mainly I will Smile, because on that day



Long ago, when our loved seemed impossible



We promised ourselves to each other



On the day we belonged to each other



It didn’t’ matter that we haven’t met yet



Or that we never hugged or kissed



On the day Long ago, all that mattered



Was that I loved you and you loved me



And we wanted to be togther



Whether it was possible or not



Was of no concern



On the day, We were together



And that’s what I wrote about



In the Poem I hope to one day complete



The poem I wrote to you



Is What Valentines Day means to me



And what it means to me



Is the first day



When you were mines



When I was yours
