I waited for you



With breathless anticipation



A movie was on our Television



I was sat on the couch





I continued to wait



Hoping to see your face



To be able to feel your warmth



And hear your voice





I knew it would come



You were just in the other room



But my heart still pounded for you



For the moment I would once again



Be graced with your inspiring beauty





My sweet lady was just a moment away



I knew she would be here again



And yet the wait seemed eternal



I knew it would be worth it and so… I waited





The moment finally came



It was what dreams are made of



You walked down the hallway



You were more beautiful than I ever before





You had a yellow sleeveless shirt,



And my sweatpants on… they were much too big



You also had tiny little black socks



Someone once said that Love was blind



But in that moment, my vision could not have been more clear





You walked towards me



As my breath was taken away



I only wanted to hug you



And hopefully you would hug me back





The Moment finally came



When you arrived at my presence



I gave you a hug and closed my eyes



It was all I had expected, the perfect moment





My life was perfect



The wait was more than worth it



I loved you more than ever before



But than came a moment that was even better



A moment that was beyond perfection



I could never have imagined a better time



In all of my life, no time more beautiful



Or more perfect, as the moment, when you hugged me back.
