"A Season of Contentment"

by Jeph Johnson

during my season of contentment

some call

the arctic chill

your

coat

fell

long

and

elegant

and we hid

beneath my quilt

shivering cold I held you

curled up in my arms

huddled close

together through

the whirling winter storm

by your side I was invincible

yet pauper to your princess

succumbing to your

succulent

chocolate mint kisses

headlong into

your misty green

soft warm

emerald eyes

I fell farewell

to unforeseen

or fruitless

fantasizing

we melted with

a springtime passion

and emerged hearts aglow

you were dashing

so I unabashedly

trampled through your snow

as though the seasons never changed

and

my love never dwindled

heartache burns

ash remains

old flames aren't rekindled

I LOVE THIS POEM

Now... THIS IS MORE LIKE IT! Beautiful poem...living up to your gift and talent here, Jeph. And, yes you do have a beautiful hand, as shown in this piece. This is extravagant.
