Dogs are Good

Dogs are Good

Clark Steven Lupton

April 18, 2004

If you want a pet

And have money to spend

I recommend a dog

They are man's best friend

They are fun to have

They can guard your house

They can come as large as lions

Or as small as a mouse

You can wrestle with your puppy

Or play a game of catch

A puppy and a child

Make the perfect match

A dog can work

A dog can play

Give it some love

And he'll love you back all day

Please get a dog

And he'll be loyal, I bet

Having a dog

Can be the perfect pet

Author's Notes/Comments:

I love dogs, but I can also have a twisted sense of humor and in the original version of this poem it had a warped ending. So just now I deleted the last warped stanza and I'm back to looking pure and innocent again :o)

Woah! Serious and cute.. all the way to disturbing! hah, nice. =)

And to your questions about my poem "Her Story"... it's more.. she was always wrong, in the way, annoying, so she stayed in her house, her basement mostly, away from others. At the end, "she died long ago, but now she is free. when you open that door, just her body you'll see"... long ago she died inside from the hurt and lonliness, but now she is physically dead, free. And yes, this poem is about me.
