Alienation

When alienation sets in

You can't relate to your kin

Nobody understands you

And you don't understand them

Everyone's on their own trip

On their lives they can't get a grip

You wonder what you're here for

And how to act hip

You don't know what you wanna do

Can't find yourself you know it's true

Who am I and who are you

What will it take to make it sink through

When will the light shine

When will you come out of your shell

Until some answers you find

You live in your own private hell

That you can't break out of

Without a big shove

From the one that you love

Or with help from above

You keep wishin and hopin real hard

That life will deal you a lucky card

When will it happen

How will I know

When will it sink in

Only then can I grow

Hmm ponder this how different is alienation then individuality? Seem to go hand in hand making a single statement. Pushed aside (alienation) because of not being understood or out of norm is that not an unacceptance for individuality not understood?
