LANGUISHER'S LAMENT

Folder:
JOURNAL # 41

run back to me please
stronger than ever

my heart's most tender beat
joy
how she so cleverly eludes me
without any glimpse of your hopeful return
I stagger about in dribbling defeat
such a pathetic muse I've become
rambling as I am
all now
on my own
perpetually pining over your pictures'
unaltered face
as so very precious to me they have been
their faithful contours I tirelessly trace
aching now as I am
just to bring you home
there are no words for the emptiness
that prowls around in my rambler's heart

it's just a surly hungry vicious beast
that intermittently cries and growls at me
no more silk doth my web weave
but mere pitiful cobwebs of fast aging
memories
the once unbelievable heaven
we found in each other
has morphed itself into
a hell in which I cannot fully now of
be free................
