how much love do you think
one heart can hold
tireless tremblings taunt tears
gone a month and a half now
without you cold
love is a nebula
prone to expansion
yet without subsequent implosion
in such emotional void
it's in only my memories where I
can build reliable mansions
scientists cannot measure
this system called the human heart
for they have no mathematical
equation upon it in which to spin
their theoretic views
just educated guesses and hypotheticals
all baseless and slim
Barret-Browning measured hers
by comparing her thee to a summer's day
so for me comparison then it must too be
for I can envision no other way
your heart's love for me is a priceless delicacy
even you said it yourself, measureless in every
possible way
and for thus which there could never be any
acceptable buyer
as we are spiritual partners in an unconditional pull
towards each other
our love is mutually exchanged not purchased
nor won
meeting you as I did
my soul was re introduced to yours
in almost glowing recognition
so many mishaps of my past suddenly made sense
I felt it early and spoke to you of it often
we wove our connections gracefully
the core of you has always beckoned to me
and like the moth to a flame
to you I repeatedly came
selflessly offering you myself
but our roles reversed and reversed back again
never keeping the same typical pattern
so very many levels we maneuvered through
burrowing further into each other
to inspect, engage and uphold
you said it best and nearly now thrice years ago
it is like I am your being and you my shadow
we grow stronger even when we hurt and cry
feeling so cold in the darkness of this forced separation
know that you are my guidance and I your finest ally...

I love this line... "the core

I love this line...

"the core of you has always beckoned to me
and like the moth to a flame"
Isn't that just a perfect explanation of the feeling that drives the heart towards "unconditional"?  ....hmmmm...wait a minute...or is it the "unconditional" part that provides the feeling?... oh heck, who cares...I love it!!
Great write Melissa! Enjoyed!♥

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
