BEAUTIFUL ROCK FOUNDATION

Folder:
JOURNAL # 40

I wrote you a poem and
you've been on my mind
the fabric of friendship
for you and I
is an ideal yarn
between us to wind
so very often you have said
from the same bolt of cloth
we two
must have been cut
two ideals sharing such
a world so terribly real
no other way could
such idea be put
in prior arguments
and the general malaise
of misunderstandings
I took you so often for granted
sadly, even that I admit
but you stood your ground
always stayed in for
the long haul
and would tirelessly find
means to mend the rift
such a tough guy
your exterior seems
to exude
but your true nature
is one of tenderness
and depth
draped in longevity and
unflinching fortitude
a real pussy cat with
a brooding attitude
how different I'd be
if I'd never known you
thank you for being there
for me
when no one else cared
enough
to even try to come through
my world would be so much
less solid
if I'd never known this
'Beautiful Rock Foundation'
I have in you
you are my angel come true ..........

Author's Notes/Comments:

written for a dear friend who was there for me when I was at my lowest and needed someone and nobody else could be reached. My grandma use to say when you are in your greatest need God sends Angels to assist you and this person was and always has been an angel and an ear for me when I've desperately needed someone to pull me out of that dark hole of utter despair. I know I am blessed to have such a friend. I marvel what I must have done right to deserve to have such a remarkable soul always in my corner. God didn't let me down he sent one of his toughest angels and I was picked up, dusted off and made to feel worthy again. If I should die today I will die knowing I have had in my life at least one true friend.
