A MILD BEAUTIFICATION

JOURNAL # 40

I quelled to think
could poetry be
mere mistakes
tattooed haphazardly
upon near next to
any possible page
and to such scribbler
said
will the world pay any
heed
or merely offhandedly
encourage
one pitied soul at a time
supporting a cause
even if only
for but
'A Mild Beautification'
I shutter that even such
a notion
already appears quite
common
via this particular venue
of over eager mass
participation
is the habit of the beast
without any inlay of
humility's question.....................

Author's Notes/Comments:

My general dismay over having read a poem that was posted with many easy mistakes of spelling and other poets congratulating the poet on how wonderful the poetry was but none ever caring to point out the umpteen misspellings. It is fine to encourage a poet but shouldn't one also critique mistakes in a constructive helpful way too? Are they not doing the poet a disservice by ignoring their many mistakes of spelling?  I found such blindness or over looking of the obvious negative a bit much and this poem came from the jolting shock I received. Sadly, this poem came to me before I could comment on the said poet and now since I have written this I don't feel comfortable making such comment as I don't wish any too harsh nor glaring light to be shed upon the said mentioned poet and poem. I do hope in our critiquing we can be that to each other but in a kind way. I know if i misspell one word I want someone to point it out to me as I am careful but don't always catch every little mistake in my writing. For me that is a big part of the constructive criticism.
