'Don't You Know'

I delight in

all things you

I curry for your favor alone

and force exit

to a near mass exodus

of all others

at the sight of thee

in lighted form

you are welcome sunshine

to this woman's rainy day

unparalleled strains of

the sweetest music

play into ears that ache to hear

just the notes of your signature song

and we do battle

almost daily

just so to grow nearer

to some cross road

we can only seem to

locate in the other

and somehow find  a way

to fit into and belong

my so beloved sir

we are whatever the way

we alone choose to make us

the world as a whole

need not enter into

our equation

until that moment

we decide to let it in...............
