EVERY POET'S FEAR

Folder:
JOURNAL #14

mirrored is the after thought

drowned by the weight of plunging doubt

so mesmerized is the emptied thinker

he is grieved by his own unraveled ghostly

thoughts

once thriving upon his now blackened scribe's

mind

he hurries around his next gray corner

only to be unsurprised by what he does not again

seem to find

pure and unguarded inspiration

blight less and hued ever so fine

the tall orders that scope new unswam waters

now leash the formidable fires he himself

used to mine

leaving him too shaken to even hold his own pen

poised precariously upon the cliff of the page

where once he seemed certain and so very destined

to win

now he can barely breath in his own carefully

constructed cage

he now finds himself facing the crueler side of

creativity

'Every Poet's Fear'

making slow work at taming the untamable

beast

his desire to write

grows at his defeat....................
