God put it all together

then he sat back and watched

as we all too humanly

preceded to tear it apart

he must have thought his all

knowing eyes to be failing him

when he witnessed just what we had done

there surely must be something more he

could do so he lovingly sent his only

son

and what did we foolishly do

why, we destroyed his beloved son too

and for this God must have openly wept

while his wonderful son a promise to us

all he faithfully kept

that we would never perish

he who ever so believeth in him

shall have ever lasting life

and that the end is only the beginning

for our valiant attempts of goodness

are our unparalleled strife..........
