JOURNAL #9 like tenacious bricks set all a scatter
certain intended purposes are just
about to matter
the one with the lead filled eyes
will take his foolish aim
but what he then accomplishes
will one day redirect the game
in perhaps his own bartered favor
a new point he will soon salvage to savor
such a blatantly blood thirsty lot
to fight for money, cruises, jewels and what?
a chance to be locally famous for all of an hour or less
and for such shoddy prizes
their very soul they are ready to confess
in such cornball contests I must rush forward to proclaim
that I do not readily believe
the products and cash certainly are the big draw
but their under handed advertisers seem almost
too eager to deceive...................
