pure love on four legs
that's what they are
shy cold noses of concern
our dispatch office greeters
so happy to greet
so reliable to love
trusted to always be there
overjoyed for a pet
even fonder for a snuggle
Denny and Dixie
two 'Delightful Dogs'
adorable one
and
adorable two
guarders of their
ever changing pack
so many two leggers
come and go
ah but Denny and Dixie
are there for the long haul
these lovely creatures in the chaos
remain ever tender
faithful and calm
two furry ports
in a storm.............

Author's Notes/Comments:

I was sitting in the dispatch office the other morning and it hit me how much I've come to love those two office dogs. I'd miss them if anything happened to them. I tried to capture their wonderful demeanor and how they grow to care for any new drivers and greet everyone they know with such affection. It's a lovely way to spend the morning there in their domain. Denny is more the love hound of the two. Dixie is shy and less forward but she has this sad face that makes you want to pet her and make over her in the hope that she won't appear so sad looking. Anyway, this is my tribute to those two wonderful souls.
