Truth In Lies

A disease is spreading with no end in sight,
Consuming the masses without a fight.
Fear and a lack of self respect make for a deathly combination,
Giving the world a metaphorical castration.
The truth lives on in less than a few,
Social treason is far from new.
Sugar coated lies only mask the bitterness in truth,
Rotting the soul of men like an infected tooth.
Uncomfortable truth swept under the rug,
With a fake misleading shrug.
I recognize this trend and refuse to submit,
An asshole I may be but to the truth I commit.
I refuse to go through life behind constant lies and fake smiles,
No matter the cost I will overcome lifes trials.
Lie your way through every situation if you must,
Just understand thats why in another youll never fully trust.
Lieing to others leads to lieing to yourself,
Might as well place your pride atop a rickety shelf.
So as the next lie infects your tounge,
Remember to life you are fully numb.
