Moonlight & Black Sky

Although we are no longer together,

I still see our love for each other in the pitch

blackness of the night sky.

As a shooting star speeds across the sky in one brilliant

streak,

I remember the first sight of you that illuminated my

life.

With each twinkling of the innumerable stars,

I reminisce on the day that sparked the beginning of

our ever present verbal relationship.

When the rising full moon finally makes its place amongst the

stars in the vastness of the black sky,

I am reminded of the night when I held you very close

in my arms and protected you from the many evils of the

world.

Breaking through the window,

the shimmering

silvery

moonlight

lustrously shines on me;

just like the passion you so readily

gave me when I cleverly locked my lips

with yours.

I'm bedazzled by the glory of the deep, black sky,

keeper of all that is in the universe.

You were bedazzled by the openess of my heart and soul,

keeper of all that is in you.

You are Moonlight; I am Black Sky,

and together,

we love each other in our own unique way.

Moonlight, Oh Moonlight

you reveal to me the magnificent qualities in my soul

that I never knew I obtained;

just like the light of the moon giving light

to the bright stars hidden in the pitch darkness

of the night sky.

As Black Sky,

I gave you a perpetual place in my heart that'll forever

outshine any other place held in this prized possession;

which is highly comparable to the moon's position

in the night sky high above the earth, outshining

even the brightest of stars.

But now, it seems as though our love has dissipated with

the dimming of a dying star.

Moonlight?! Moonlight?!

Where forth art thou Moonlight?!

Without Moonlight,

I, Black Sky, am just an unsentimental void

that keeps its bright stars hidden in its pitch

darkness.

Black Sky! Black Sky!

Keeper of all that is in the universe.

Keeper of all that is in me,

Your pitch darkness is so deep,

so mysterious,

and so powerful,

that not even my shimmering

silvery light could penetrate it so I could reveal to the

world your true beauty and glory.

Black Sky! Oh Black Sky!

Why hast thou forsaken me?!

Why hast thou cast a dark veil upon your heart?!

Why hast thou severed me from thou soul?!

Black Sky! Oh Black Sky!

Holder of secrets unseen to me,

Hear My Cry!

Hear My Cry!

For I, Moonlight, the lamp of your soul,

am forced to retreat below the horizon of

solitude,

for I no longer have a place in the

highest seat of Black Sky.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem mainly deals with my own personal fears of love. I'm afraid to get real close to people, because I am scared that I might lose them in the process of loving them with my all. "Moonlight and Black Sky" explains to the world why I keep my feelings and emotions shut to the world.

I just thought this poem was very intresting... I especially like this line "I remember the first sight of you that illuminated my life."... How beautiful... I find that line to be VERY true... I think it is the perfect way of saying that feeling that you get when you first meet a "special" person in your life... Letting people into my life is hard for me also... In life we all get burned no matter how hard we try to prevent it... You are still young and have so much ahead of you... I commend you for being a strong young man in a world so tuff... You WILL find your specail lady... You just gotta get through all the riff-raff first... Don't worry it will make you stronger and wiser in the end!... Stay focused and CONGRADULATIONS on college!!... Keep writing and keep making goals for yourself also... You are on the right track!!!... Sincerely, Jessica...
