Texas Hold 'Em

I keep my cards close to my chest
never revealing
my true feelings.

The hand I was dealt
is not to be envied;
it won't lead me to victory.

But if I wish to cash in my chips,
I would have to admit defeat
and I'm too stubborn for that.

I'm untrusting of all players
in this game of life
for fear of being cheated.

When the staked are raised
I can't afford folding
even if it means losing.

I have too much invested,
too much riding on
this lousy pair of hearts.

Awwwwww...

.
this is so heart warming - and reality based. Felt this one. I especially liked the ending that was soooooo real and final - Lady A
