A Flame Alive with the Ticking of Time

Travelling all these years together'

Seeing dawn, dusk and drama

In our life, the hours walking with us,

Experience made you a habitual dreamer,

A flame alive with the ticking of time;

And you say life is as delicate as

A girl's heart, the innate modem

Boys yearn for, flaunting

Their teeth's whiteness,

Poised to voice their popeyes...

That's how i got you darling

2-score years ago;

I poised to voice my dreams on you;

Remember how we used

To be agile like columbus monkeys,

How we were swift when

Youth flowed in our veins,

And still looking ahead

Into the brighter streets of life,

The sun on our heads and hands;

Our mouths sang love songs, the

Memories still throb in our single pulse;

But now what do you make of

These dry sticks, these gnarled hands,

This veil of wrinkles on our faces?

Those days have gone darling

Through skin-cracks

And hurrying twilights

With an arrogant pace

And makes you and me infallids

In its onlought!

But we must exchange flowers,

The ones we have always exchanged;

Lure me once more darling,

To the ever bright soul of your heart.

Author's Notes/Comments:

True love never withers like flowers, only the bodies do.

A beautiful poem!

So descriptive! I like the alliteration in the second line "dawn, dusk and drama". I have a question: shouldn't it be "A Flame Alive..." not "Alife"? I also like the lines "And you say life is as delicateas as/A girl's heart" although there is a small typographical error in the word "delicate" A beautiful, visual poem. Well done!
