Chalk Line

what does one do
when the cracks in the glass
protect you better
than the glass itself?

so you hide in your weaknesses
traumas
abuses
anything that ever felt
as if you were that storied woman
about to be stoned.

but, though I can see through you,
it's only passed the heart of you

the rest of you has become invisible.

while you defined yourself
by the scars and wounds you could show the world,
alone,
you've become a chalk line
rather than the complex friend
i'd lose sleep to walk around all night with
and just talk.

and while suffering helps make us relatable,
we can only take on
the awe and character of stained glass
in the marriage of the cracks,
and the unblemishable beauty inbetween -
the space you fill in by existing,
discovering,
taking on different pieces from infinite and original
fruitful shapes and shades and textures that suit you
..you..
alone,
individually.

please don't hide behind the cracks with me
but most of all, by far, for yourself.

so come out of hiding
behind your pain
lay down inside that chalk line
wash it away
and stand up, again.

Ressurection

.

Glass cracks - as a place to hide. Fab image - ending was sublime. Chalklines go around the murdered - erase and rise is wondrous! Topical. :D
