Wonderland

I found my secret Wonderland
Hidden amongst the chains

Innosence is behind me
I am here for a cause

All lights on me in this secret Wonderland
As I dance into my place

I found my secret Wonderland
Up here upon the stage.

A prison is no longer one
When my secret comes to light

I found my secret Wonderland
Hidden amongst the chains.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I was in Man of La Mancha (the musical) and I truely found my Dulcina: Theater. So I wrote this and If you know about Man of La Mancha this makes a bit more sense. (;-; its over now sad face)

Great poem

I read the poem before reading your author's note. I can see your vision but I think you tapped something deeper and more universal as well. Excellent writing!

Dulcina

It is a novel written by Miguel de Cervantes and considered the greatest novel ever written (never read it myself, but oh well.)
It is about a man who was arrested and is awaiting the Spanish Inquistion. But before that his fellow prisoners put him on trial for everything he has. His defence? A musical. ( which makes this a musical within a play) And In this musical he becomes a man named Don Quixote de La Mancha and sallys forth into the world to right all wrongs. While "Don Quixote" is a knight errant out to dream the impossible dream, his friends back at home are trying to find a way to bring Alonso Quixana back from madness and to realize he is not a knight and is not "Don Quixote". On His adventures he finds a girl named Aldonza, who is the centuries equalivent to a prostitute. He falls in love with this woman but part of the Knight's code is to "Love, pure and chaste from afar." He calls Aldonza "Dulcina" and treats her as if she is a delicate virgin princess. Which confuses her as she has always been treated like trash. He says all victories are in her name and would gladly die for her.

So Dulcina is something you love and hold in the higest esteem. For me it is Theater.
