it lay so still

true and patient

waiting for the day

that it will spread again

bear the weight from within

relieve a heart of its pain

give the hope to the remains

many chapters written

memories never forgotten

all the things that had come

or had dwindled down to none

but now that time has come to pass

all is cold and still

for the final chapter is soon

to be written, that is the will

all the memories that weigh it down

burden it ever more still

for it has no way of its own

to release the pain, avoid the kill

but this book houses a regret

never soon to be rid

of the chapters of my life

that i only wish to forget

i lay down the pen

never to write again

for if i do

i know this is true

it shall be the last write

the setting of my sun

the inevitable come of night...

Good luck in the relationship thing. Been there, done that....not my cup of tea. About the job, know what you mean. My supervisor makes me feel the same way day in and out. Thought about quitting, but I have more strenght in me then that, and I won't be the one to back down. He'll just have to fire me.

JOSH!!! Hey. I wanted to tell you that I love this poem. It's really good, as all of your poems are. You are a truly gifted poet and I hope someday you become famous for them. Write me when you can.
