Till the end of time

Till the end of time:

As I gasp for air, while I run up the stairs

I think about those precious times

He whispered in my ear those songs with tunic rhymes

The lyrics were so tender

As the music he created with his steady voice carried me down to sleep

So deep the love I have for him that I always plan to keep

I run as fast as I can to get to the door of his home

The words I heard him say on the phone

That keep echoing in my mind, still roam

?Liz , I love you but I have to go!?

?What? Where?!? I cried

?I have to go, I?m sorry!?

?You?re dead!? the stranger in his house said

?What, who?s that?! What is he saying??

?Sorry, Sorry, I love you!!!? my lover said

?Shut the hell up and stop yelling!?

The stranger in his house kept telling

I thought I heard a gun shot then

Oh god, I have to get there to see him...

I reach for the door, twist the door knob and yell out

?Steve!?

There he was on the floor

Like a helpless dog on a rainy day outdoors

I ran to him and held him in my arms like he always held me

Sure I saw him cry, that I could see

But what I clearly saw, was love staring back at me

?What happened??

The red shirt he?d worn had blackened

?I love you? he mentioned

I kept close to him, somehow easing the tension

The tear that rolled down my check fused with his

?Sing to me, please Liz?

Still holding him, I closed the space between us two

I whispered with soft words the song we both so fondly knew

?No one can tare us apart

You and me, forever here in the heart

I?ll always be with you, in heaven or here on earth

We were meant to be together, till death ever sense birth

Be with me my love

My dear angel from above

For no one can tare us apart

You and me, forever here in the heart?

My lips touched his for the last time

His eyes opened and closed for the last time

He held my hand with warmth for the last time

He smiled back at me for the last time

But our love will last till the end of time

Author's Notes/Comments:

I just finished writing this poem. Why? I do not know, I guess I just had to let my mind flow, after all I did stop writing poetry for a long time. So yep, here's this poem many would sadly relate too.

That is one the most beautiful poems I've ever read Karla. So romantic, emotional yet tragic. The elements that you put into this poem work so perfectly. I'm so impressed! Great job! I'm looking forward to see more!
