secular poems

we use to walk in summer heat

but now it is no "we"

it is just me...

and you...

you are the heat.

we both liked clear blue sky

to watch white hanging clouds

and look at stars in dark blue nights,

but now you are the sky.

your brownish sun-burnt skin

was solitude and hidding place for me

was my array in chilly nights we had

but now you are the sun.

you loved this earth

and to adorn it

you tried with all your might

and now you are the earth.

you are in everything

you are the air i breathe

now, your knowledge is unbound,

for you there's no more when and why

right now you wait for me

until i'll be akin.

i'll look for you

in every form of sacred beauty

i'll look for you in every flower

in every sunset

and every night

i'll light a fire for you.

now fly, mate of my soul

and take my love with you.

you wrote deep in my heart

our love is endless,

i'll wait for the everlasting string

to bind us evermore.

I like the poetic rhythm, the feel of the poetry, and the set up of stanzas in it. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to reading more!!

God Bless!!

The soul brings us to life. It leaves our bodies when we die. Why then, is it such a stretch to believe that poetry written from the heart is branded into our souls? Like love is the key to the heart, poetry must be the key to the soul.

I liked the metaphors and personification in this poem. Thanks for sharing.
