 Poetry is song in speech, an art which renders an essence to the reader with words and sounds. Rhythm, rhyme, alliteration, assonance, and harmony all enhance the emotional tone of the words. So, read your poems aloud before submitting them to readers for all of us to enjoy. It is as an opportunity to give yourself the poet, a chance to experience what your audience might very well feel. At times it will be necessary to use a literal context in the sense that the language of choice has a need to conform to a universal understanding, punctuation and correct spelling may be required to convey the message. I am not a man of letters I just love poetry as a form of lyric communication that is almost as old and diverse as all humankind… Keep writing, keep learning.
