.14.. through the clouds

06/21/03

shiny and bright

the sun does shine

with breezes light

this day so lovely and clear

a single cloud blocks the sun

bringing darkness and cold

but soon the sun again

will shine brightly through the skies

winter falls... harsh and bitter

cold... lonely... and dark

the skies covered with clouds

why go on -- when there is no prospect of hope

why go on -- when the winter grows deeper

churning it's power of gloom

why go on -- when all expectations were gone, long ago

seeing only this danger and horror before us

this evil that faces us all -- there is no stopping it now

but go on... we must.... survive.... or perish and die

there is no stopping us now

for again one day the sun will shine brightly through the skies

Author's Notes/Comments:

I was laying on the patio feeling the warmth of the sun when a cloud passed it's
path.  The poem came to me then.  Though life can give us hard times, it is good to know the sun will shine again.

I feel this poem has a personal attachment to what I am experiencing at the moment. Very soulful and melancholic. I can drift with your clouds, aimlessly.

Beautiful and I like the fashion to which it is written.
