Midnight Longing

I gazed upon the midnight sky

I saw the dazzling stars up high

I made a wish

And hoped it'll come true

I hoped that it would forever be me and you

I gazed upon the midnight sky

I saw your image in my mind

You held my palm

Your face so calm

Your eyes were bright

I desired right then to hold you tight

I gazed upon the midnight sky

I saw my eagerness to fly

I took a step towards the windowsill

I spread my wings

Soft feathery white pearls

I jolted up, taking a flight

I flew about with pink cottony swirls

I gazed upon the midnight sky

I saw sparkling glittery lights

I squinted slightly

Looking at it closely,

And gliding slowly,

I spread my wings

More wider than before

I landed my feet on a midnight blue shore

I gazed upon the midnight sky

I saw your shadow just close by

You approached with tenderness

I begged to feel your sweet caress

You held my hand

And sat by my side

It made me want to dance and glide

We walked upon the sandy beach

The other end we wanted to reach

I gazed upon the midnight sky

I saw the longing in your smile

You put your arms around my waist,

Protecting me with your sweet embrace

Again we walked along the shore

Treasuring every moment,

These simple wonders and more

This midnight mist

More brilliant than before

I hope our love would be forevermore
