The Last Man

Folder:
Soapbox

My tears fall in this wasteland's dust,

Why? Because our leaders betrayed

a sacred trust.

The land lays barren and spoiled

As the sun beats down

and the rivers boil.

They sold out to arab oil

Choking the land

and ruining the soil.

They lined their pockets

to live like kings,

While the common man

suffered all these things.

Now it is all gone

I am the last,

Whoever finds this tome,

Learn from our past.

The land will only stand

for so much abuse,

Before it gets even with you.

Find environemntally friendly fuels

before it is to late,

Or your planet will end up

in this state.

Instead of exploring space,

focus on repairing

your home place.

Instead of making war,

Focus on environmental inventions

that will naturally restore.

One last word before I die,

and my soul does fly,

Please take these words to heart,

I can do no more...with this tome,

I have done my part.

Goodbye and good luck.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Seems if we took all the money being thrown into space and spent it on getting off dirty burning fuels and onto renewable energy, we would be better off.

Hi Huck old friend. Sorry I haven't been around lately. Have had a very busy summer.Good write this one and I totally agree. I have said a billion times if God had of wanted us in space or on other planets, he would have provided a way to get there. It's the biggest waste of money I know of and could go a long way toward feeding some of our hungry children.Hope you are doing ok.
Hugs

very good advice, something we should all read and understand and more importantly something we should all do!
What we do to the planet today will come back to harm us in the future and if not ours then the future of our children or their children and so on. Be careful with the environment we can't just go get another one.
