He is not here
But sees my every move.

The cheers I send.
He gives me a helping hand
When I slip on the step
And fell to the ground.
He reaches out to me
When my spirit is down
And enthusiasm is drawn.
He boosts my confidence
With encouraging words;
And believes in my ability
More than gifts he could give.
He is there to share his time
About things that I should do;
And ask me without fail
If there's something he could do.
There is no better way
For him to make me happy;
But to show me he's so keen
By being there yet unseen.

Though this may have been a literal person,it also sounds like it could be one's higher source looked to for many answers
