I wanted to be there for you

and to wipe all of your tears away

I wanted to help you make it through

and to help you to be okay



I wanted to love you with all my heart

Even if we were a million miles apart

I wanted to give you all that I had

and I wanted you to never again feel sad



I wanted you to hold me close when you felt fear

I wanted you to know that I would always be near

I wanted us to last forever

and for us to grow old together



I wanted all our dreams to come true

I wanted to believe in me and you

and I wanted you to just love me in return

but I guess that is something I did not earn



Nothing I wanted will ever be

because you no longer love me
