It took me a while to get to where I am

I was not sure I would ever be ready to hold your hand

I could not let my heart go, I just could not commit

Everyone as soon walked away and I could no longer handle it



So I thought maybe it was time I let go of my heart

For once it felt all right

Now his heart is mine

and we have love to comfort us each and every night



It still takes a lot of work to believe I am worthy

But he is so special...so I try to believe that I am deserving

He is my heart, my very soul

He is the safe place where I long to go



Long as I am by his side

Then I know everything will be fine

and as he holds his hands in mine

That stars above us sparkle and shine...



He does not have to be perfect, because he is number one to me

He is the only forever I would be happy to see

He must be an angel because he got me to change

However the waves did not crash and the seasons did not rearrange



and when we dance hand in hand

and lie in eachothers arms in the sand

We know true love is what we share

We don't doubt that forever we'll be together

Because we know that for each other we will always care
