The Most Beautiful Sound

      The Most Beautiful Sound

The old masters, throughout all of the ages,
Have pillaged through time, and torn through life's pages.
To simply try and find a treasure, the Most Beautiful Sound.
I laugh, serendipity is with me, for this sound I have found.

I do not know if this sound, she has comprised by choice,
But this sound, is the comfort of an angelic voice.
This voice soothes my soul, and let's me see
It is without flaw or blemish, and consoling to me.

It a voice so pure, like the finest gold.
A voice a voice, that to me, shall never grow old.
And like gold, this voice is rare.
To simply hear it, my life will lose all care.

A voice is just a voice, if it does not come from an honest heart.
But this heart rings true, as it is a priceless piece of art.
A piece of art so immaculate, I cannot explain.
I can say though, that this art is an art that drives me insane.

At dawn each morning, when I wake.
I ask Him above, for my own sake.
What did I do to deserve it, just a simple clue.
A clue to why I deserved to meet you.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I know it needs to be refined. I just really want some honest, critical opinions. I value critique more than I value half assed fake compliments. Thank you!

Aw shucks. Now I feel bad for actually being critical. But, you did ask for such and I tried. Like I said, I'm not really good at that. Truth be told I found great beauty in your words. And I don't think I'd actually change a thing. I believe you are very fortunate to have found someone who's vibration rings so true in your heart. Blessings to you and Merry Christmas Eve!

Ahaha, no! Do not feel bad my friend. I would rather have honest criticism of my poetry any day, over some half-assed fake compliments. I posted this here because I truly wanted someone else's opinion before I gave it to her. I would appreciate a critical approach over a sugar-coated one any day! I appreciate your opinion on it and I thank you for your kind words! Have a very Merry Christmass yourself! <3

Well, if you ask me, I'd say She is going to LOVE it. I can't imagine being the least bit critical if those words were a gift to me. Don't stress it one bit. Unless she's some kind of hard core poetry critic, I think you have nothing to worry about. And even if she is, I'm sure she'll still think it beautiful.

And thanks! I am having a merry xmas on the road in Arkansas. Though it would be nice to be with family and friends. No gifts for me this year. Don't think Santa will be able to find me out here. Oh well... Thanks for enduring my rambling for a minute there. :D

Pssssht, don't be sorry... you can rant to me all you like haha. And it's not the presents that make Christmas haha, so don't worry at all!

Really?! :O  I thought it was

Really?! :O  I thought it was ALL about presents!  ;P

I'm still missing out on the family and friends relating stuff though. But I'm not really complaining. Grateful for everything in life!

Peace...

I am thinking everyone will

I am thinking everyone will find a different meaning for this "voice". So pure, so reflecting of the beauty of all that is, without any preconceptions through some conditioned thought or historic finding. The "voice" I have in mind is that which we all have the ability to tap into in the timeless inner peace that silence has to offer. The voice that speaks without speaking, listens through the heart, and guides through one's soul. The "voice of a universal hope" that humanity survives to see our deepest and purest potential decorate the earth's place in the universe. Thank you for writing. The last two lines make the poem for me. It was is those two lines, the "voice" called me. <3 ;-)

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

Thank you so very much!

You're just great. I don't know what to say.. someone finally understands it. I really hope by making those last two lines so simple and straight forward, that the reader can understan the true meaning of this voice. It is something that famous, learned men of history have chased after, but I was just lucky enough for it to simply find me! Thank you so very much! I hope she'll like it!<3

I am normally not a writer,

I am normally not a writer, nor poet. I am musician and a thinker, but when things are on my heart, then I become an artist. She's on my heart right now, and if she likes this, then there will surely be more. Merry Christmas to you!
