scratching my ass

and drinking beer

released some tension

earlier

in the evening

didn’t even enjoy it

too cold

too mechanical

listening to music

from Indonesia

thinking about

three women

and poetry

not recovering

from the cold;

not ready for bed;

not able to rise

above the reality

of my surroundings

never up to the occasion

fall short

of the mark again;

fall way short

of the goals;

repetition

predictably dull

most certainly

the novelty has worn

thin by now

I’m unable

to get excited

about any of this

just take it

on the chin

It’s not as bad

as it seems right now

never is
