In The End

A young boy

cries in the corner,

badly bruised and bleeding.

In the end, he will heal again.

A teenage girl

sobs as news comes

of a best friend's fatal accident.

In the end, she will smile again.

A frantic mother

searches far and wide

for her child's missing favorite toy.

In the end, he will play again.

A grief stricken man

openly weeps,

as his wife is buried so soon.

In the end, he will live again.

Alone, by myself,

I can only think

of how badly you broke my heart.

In the end, I will love you again.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Years ago I had a case full of my writings. Unfortunate circumstances led to me losing said case, but this particular poem has been floating in my head for 20 years. Nothing too special, I am sure, but at the time I wrote it, it was the state of my heart. I am really looking forward to getting back into writing. I'd love to hear the good the bad and the ugly here!

Sorry

to hear about your lost case of writing.

Maybe it happened for a reason...I like to think everything tends to.

I enjoyed this poem...one could even tie in that the poet,

who lost her case of writings...will to

write again. And we hope you do. Welcome to the community
