Just Another Face

She stands alone in the crowd.

One in a sea of faces.

As the piano keys start to echo through the bar.

Tears fall soft.

Haunted is her heart from those years so long past.

She brushes her dark auburn hair from her face,

And stares upon that state of a man.

The only one she ever loved.

He wrote this simple string of notes for her,

So long ago...

Too far gone for them to make sense anymore.

He won't even know she's here.

She'll just be another face melting away in the crowd.

Alone again to take a back burner to his music.

Once more the overwhelming chords devour her soul,

Until she is nothing but a broken heart.

and the saddest part is,

He'll never know she still cares,

And she'll never know this song is all he has,

To remember a love that never truely died.

Author's Notes/Comments:

If I were to write a screenplay, this would be it.  I'm such a sucker for any kind of love story (yes it's pathetic).
