Cynical Eyes

Daylight eats away at my eyes.
Everything before me is fleeting.
Their beauty, my pain, and
All the worries that keep us here.

I wanted to touch the world as
These events have touched me.
To share this despair with you
Take refuge in the hopes you

Offer. But there was none, that
My cynical eyes could see.
I came to hate the daylight and
All the dark specks that floated

Around in my sight, so I hid away
In the night, until daylight blinded
And frightened me. My cynical eyes
Become disturbed in the night.

Cool Style

I am loving these wrap-around transitions between verse-breaks - I sailed with them and enjoyed the journey ~allets~
