I Keep a Bottle Hidden

Folder:
Thoughts

Upon a shelf within my heart
I keep a bottle hidden.
And to release the contents held inside,
Even for myself it is forbidden.

For that bottle made of tinted glass,
Is where I keep my tears of sorrow.
It also holds the pain I hide,
And my fears about tomorrow.

This bottle, corked and pressured,
Sometimes will blow it's top,
And all the tears it did contain
Pour out a flood I cannot stop.

And all the feelings of deep sadness,
And of anger, pain, and hurt,
Come rushing in a rapid waterfall
And exploding in a sudden burst.

And once there are no longer any
Tears left inside to cry,
I cannot help but feel some sort
Of sickly hallowness inside.

Yes, upon a shelf within my heart
I keep a bottle hidden.
And to release the contents held inside,
Even for myself it is forbidden.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is a poem that I believe a lot of people can relate to. There are many people who bottle up their feelings inside like i used to. Just take it from me: although it can be very difficult to open up sometimes, it is always good to go to someone u can trust and who cares rather than hold it all in :) Comments are welcome :)
