“In This, Life”

In this, the carnival of souls

we chase the lost dreams of failed goals

give me one shot, just a single chance

and I will be gone in a single glance

In this, the circus of sin

we have everything with nothing to believe in

To explore the universe, surf the cosmos

looking within for the answers to this show

gaze upon a star and know the secrets of the lost

forgotten through a whisper all fables get sought

Here I still stand, broken but the heavens I still command

I am here, I am still breathing, as I am still alive

I will go kicking and screaming to survive

surrounded by the chaos of it all, walking this ghostly hall

haunted by the memories and what it all means

It feels like we are running in circles, chasing the lost dreams.

Beat an angel down and tear off it's wings

yet in the silent night, it's spirit still sings.

The strangest dance of them all

is to run and run till you hit the wall

or to become lost within their maze, lost within a haze

seduced by a lie, hypnotized until you die.

Tomorrow will come at a price I will eventually pay

to turn a sigh into a smile, as I face another beautiful day

to see the sand within the hour glass

when time seems finite why worry about the past.
