Broken Wings and Scorpion Stings

This night has been the worst since the last,

My future will be will as worse as my past.

The clouds in the sky only make my world gray,

The stars in the sky only guide me the wrong way.

We'll bend our arms back to make them look like wings,

We'll destroy the demon and cry as it peacefully sings.

Crash my car to the sound of your soothing voice,

Breaking your heart wasn't my mission but was my only choice.

And then I prayed to not let our future be determined by our failed past,

She unleashed her war cry and said, "You better savor this kiss, because it'll be our last."

My wings are broken,

My screams are left unspoken.

Take my soul and throw it away,

Take my life and bring it to a more promising day.

This morning has been the worst since the one before,

My road ahead will be as worse as the one that took me straight to your front door.

The clouds in the sky only make my depression stay,

The stars in the sky only lead me away and astray.

We'll bend our arms back and pretend they are genuine wings,

We'll emancipate the nightmare and dream as it peacefully sings.

Slit my wrist to the smell of your blissful skin,

Hurting you like this wasn't my plan but was the only way for my life to truly begin.

And then I pleaded to not let our love be overshadowed by our bitter hate,

She stopped in her tracks and growled, "Don't come crawling back into my arms when you realize you made a huge mistake."

My wings are broken,

My cries are outspoken.

Take my heart and toss it away,

Take me by the hand and show me a brighter day.

All the joys and celebrations that life continually brings,

Will never conceal all my horrendous scorpion stings.
