Missing Link

“I…had that dream again”

so I told myself

wondering how long must I endure.

But in my restless dreams

you came to visit me

just to make your presence

once more known.

Is it your way of telling

that we’re still connected,

juxtaposed by Soul invisible?

It seems so, honestly.

And your voice I’ve heard

calling out my name

long ago

is cached out in space

yet such is life

when I yearn for

a little more time with you.

Ten billion stars light up the night

and trying to speak with you

is like trying to kiss a star

in the heavens.

You can’t reach it.

You’re half a world away

to give an embrace

with a thousand words

I never had the chance to tell you.

The memories of you

I remember them well.

They pull my heartstrings

as I cry them out

from my eyes

under the pale moonlight.

The sky only knows it is the last

we have in common but

where are you?

‘cause me missing you

are footsteps in the snow

stammering to be clear

in the storm.

I’ve terribly missed you.

And although the dimmest light

has come to wake you

from your sleep,

you will never realize

the invisible me in your mind;

and in your life.

Even though our time spent together

back then had to end like this,

I 'still' wouldn’t trade it

for the world.

We shared precious times together.

Even if it will be hard on me,

no matter how much my heart will ache,

they were pieces of my dream,

all of them.

I can’t tell you to remember me,

but I can’t bear for you

to forget me.

I’m so sorry.

You’ve given me so much and

I haven’t been able to return

a single thing.

So now that you’re gone

I want you to live for yourself.

Do what’s best for you.

You never knew this

and I understand you’ll go on living your life

never knowing this one fact

but back then I was happy.

You’ve made me so happy.

I can’t stop my beating heart

even if everything is in vain.

Though we’re apart

I’ll always love you

and that’s the promise I shall keep

for the both of us forever.

"To search for the moon

I’ll look up to the sky.

Right away I’ll find it

shining brighter and brighter

because if there is a moon,

if the heart that lights up the void

is the tender moonlight,

at least I will look for a piece of moonlight

and let them become dyed treasures.

So please keep them in a box

until I return one day

with the key.

Right now the moon waxes

leaving a little bit

of loneliness."

Author's Notes/Comments:

Prose / A prose poem dealing with a silent past.  It's meant to be read very very slowly, just to evoke the moment.  Well?  Comments?  \(^-^;)
