Hugging A Shadow

Embrace a shadow

One does not feel a thing

except to lay on the ground

or perhaps flat to the wall.

Whenever I run after it,

the shadow moves further away.

It especially won't speak to me

as I talk to it under the sun.

And I lose it most at night

when the moon never shines.

I can create artificial ones though

through street lamps

although it's not the same.

I so much want to hug the shadow

but I guess it never wanted

me at all.

This is a really good but sad poem that you wrote here, and yet, it's a beautiful masterpiece of what you had to express from deep down within yourself. =)

This reminds me of Peter Pan and his shadow that ran away. I think shadows are all secretly in cahoots with one another. Well written poem.
