Day After

bishupoetry

Cobwebs strung on the verandah grill

Unwashed pots and pans -- last night's dinner

Garbage bin stashed with peels and skins

Sparrows pecking at leftovers on the dining table

Crows cawing deafeningly-- frustrated,denied entry

Burnt cigarette butts in the overflowing ash-tray

Empty liquor bottle ------ pungent stench

Dinner-mates sprawled on unmade beds

Stained with grease and sauce- the tablecloth

Strewn on the table a deck of cards, cellphones

Chicken curry , half-eaten wings,legs

Numbed with liquor,tobacco and food

Poetry! What's that ? Revellers were in no mood

Thankyou for the reminder of

Thankyou for the reminder of the "Morning After". It's comforting to know they are the same all over the world regardless of different cultures.

On the occasion of my next morning after, I shall remember your words and smile, no matter the tasks before me.

Quite an unhealthy environment for good living but an exciting place for hooligans!  Well portrayed.  Fine in vocabulary and expression.  Great.
