Promise

Give me the happiness of a peacock dancing before rain

Help me forget my sorrows, my cage, my pain

My heart aches to fly free with the wise cloud

I PROMISE I shall not utter my experiences aloud

Lend me for a minute the bright wings of a butterfly

I'll flit from flower to flower at dawn tasting nectar

Please don't allow the concrete jungle my happiness mar

In the wondrous moonlit night make me a bat

I PROMISE I'll go to sleep a few minutes after that

When I wake up next morn make me a bee

I'll see the hive's thousand bees & meet the queen

I PROMISE to go back to bed again.. I'll not be seen

Turn me into a wild rabbit in the lovely jungle

I'll enjoy the transformation

I PROMISE not to share the information

Make me a tiny dewdrop at early morn

I'll rest on a tiny leaf of your garden

I PROMISE not to tell about the treasures hidden

Its now mid afternoon & I'm smoking a cigarette

Dumbfounded at your beauty & colours on your palette

Us humans

I, too, admire nature. Its too bad sometimes we are either too busy, or too carefree and we miss it.

Its too bad some of us destroy it, just for the sake of profit.

I, too, wish I was an animal sometimes. Free of charges and free to do what I want, though I know that I should keep it as a secret.

And that, to me, is what this song is about. Thank you for this gem, Bishu.
