Space Mission

Space Mission

*************

Aboard an experimental spaceship

Shot into space at double light speed

Thirty first December twenty fourteen

Pilot was a happy smiling astronaut

Only two of us in reclining seats

Padded  comfy with wild heartbeats

In a twinkling of our hazy eyes

We hurtled into the starlit skies

Leaving clocks,calendars far behind

2014 has been extremely kind

Silence reigned our shells pained

2014 has left us ever so strained

Bereft of Hope.. bereft of Vision

Alas earth is yet to breathe unison

Surely somewhere in a distant place

We'll find beings who'll not disgrace

The birds and bees, flowers and trees

These the nepenthe which life frees
