New Commandment
There was only one, only one
Since his time begun there was only one
For us to follow, it came from the son
We follow his teachings until kingdom come
Love one another as I have loved you
Please be true, these lines he drew
Observed by most and betrayed by few
The followers grew, of this wise young Jew
The expression’s not hard, sometimes it is marred
We all need to be aware and to be on our guard
To enter the kingdom we must we must walk the long yard
Or we will be barred. Forever be scarred
Love one another. Love your sister and brother
Show respect and love to your father and mother
It is simple to say now lets all try to cover
All that is required to be disciples God and no other
This new commandment replaces the ten
He told all women and men. Do this and then
Heavens gates will be welcome and forever open
Love as I have loved you in my name Amen
Isn't it the truth? If you do that one thing there won't ever be a time when you can break any of the others. You should read my "Love Thy Neighbor As Thyself". We have similar ideas, My friend.
