The One Night Stand

You saw her at the bar, through foggy drink

Her eyes swimming, hard for her to think

Drowning her with interest, impossible to resist

You through her drunken mist.

The first kiss, so seductive, so sweet

You both couldn’t wait, needed your treat.

You pushed inside, impatient and greedy,

Her body all soft, willing and needy.

The next morning, with spinning head

You realize with growing dread.

No condom was used; she is not on the pill

Oh dearie me, so expensive a thrill!

Her hair is all lank, her skin sort of grey

No resemblance to yesterdays prey.

Her full breasts was just a lie,

not at all matching her round thigh.

To you she’s a ragdoll now

You need new earth to plow

The goodbyes at the door are lame,

both feeling the shame.

The message is therefore unwanted

Though no surprise, you feel haunted

She’s carrying something of yours

And you, you can’t face up to the chores.

So run away little boy, run run run

Let HER deal with what you’ve done.

Make her be the grown up, So you still can

Having your fun, not being a man.

After all, it takes two to tango.

She was willing, she didn’t say no.

No need for her to disturb your peace.

You can all let it go with admiring ease.

While the consequences for you quickly vanish

Hers are still there, will always tarnish

Her future, her mind, her sorrows canned,

Her body forever scarred by the one night stand.

Thank you.

It means a lot to me that you relate to it. It's one of my favorites, and was also the easiest to write, the words just tumbled out you know.

I'm always lying, in fact, I'm lying to you right now.
