just a pawn

a girl should be quite precautious to convey
her hopes for happiness as it sometimes is bound to dismay

bound by narrative in knots so tight

it is a story that sways her to others' delight

she’ll entertain such rumors until it's unveiled

they only want what they want as her heart is assailed

so let unwilling streams flow down her face

it seems she going to feel another heartaches embrace

now we all know it is a game with its winners and losers

kings, queens, princes, princesses and some mean abusers

she cannot comprehend what answer can be drawn

she feels in this game of love she is just a pawn

Nice read. But I don't think love should be a 'game'. It's more of an exchange...

I am in total agreement

and you are right, life and love are not games.

Love is a give and take.

This poem is not about a hearts like yours.

The poem was an attempt in a figurative sense to bring to light that there some “people” in this world who think that everything is a game or a competition of sorts.

The players know who they are, and we all lose when they think that they have won.

Loss is a matter of

Loss is a matter of perception. Loss that creates the loss of a burden can be liberating. Loss that creates pain can be an inner signal to heed our insight and attention. Everything is perception. I love the poem because I find many things in the outer world a game. Even love, as I have used fables and fairytales to cjole and soothe the hearts of many children in physical pain of which man's drugs had not use for them. In chess I love the horse!! As you can win by the slightest shift of perception and see the 'game' from many angles, and not just the one that carries the pain. Balance is the hero of all...even the players...'winners' and 'losers'!!!

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

ahh,

ones own perception is their own reality.

and yes, the Knight is a very useful piece, but the Queen she is the most useful.

thanks again for your concise insights

True...the queen is very sly

True...the queen is very sly and can rule the knight with skill.

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

You clearly have a lot of

You clearly have a lot of experience in writing. I enjoyed this greatly.

thank you

the writing part is the easy part. It is my love of words. An avocation of sorts... The hard part are the experiences, well, some harder than others. It is finding essential phrases that convey universal feelings. I am sure you will be more than an able craftperson, apply your knowlegde and experience, check your spelling, and grammer too. Find the essence... To me that is what the written word is... in poetry... it is the essence.

enjoy
