Power of The Mind

The heat and sand

The sweat and tan

The filth and awful stench

No privacy

With lines to eat

No room to sleep and stretch

As days ticked by

I, horrified

By thought of times like these...

Now chuckle at the thought of it

Because is such a breeze.

But now and then

(Still here you see... I mean at NTC)

I find I can

If time to plan

The difference lies with me

In truth no different

Bad or good

All things are in the mind

And so ive come to love the things

Once hated and despised

The power of the mind:

You have painted quite a horrid picture of your environment - I do not think I would like to visit - hope your locality imroves shortly - however, would like to say that your ability to paint a picture of your surroundings is very vivid within this poem. I also think it is good that your mind and mental agility can counjore up such disasters and your mind find a positive angle to grasp to and through your poetry. 48 daniel.

Feelings of a Man in a Mechanised Machine

Toiling for 8 hours... dust, low lights, stench of burning paint and tar. Men even light up cigarettes to escape from the perpetual physical & mental cage. Very hard life I must say.But be sure that everything will turn out to be nice after work and returning to a small secluded cubbyhole.I feel the poet's thoughts... Your post reminded me of "The Time Machine" by H G Wells... This post is much appreciated by me. Writing a few lines help getting a mind aired.. Happy Easters Daniel Sir Smile
