You need to know this
Never forget once you were loved
Child!
You were what they called their own
Their own blood sweat and tears
Ever so eager to break into the scene since
long before when you were not even conceived
You had it in your DNA which they pieced together
So shall you flourish
even without them.
Missed few episodes here and there
so I lost the plot
do not know stories behind the scars you have on you now
But you once were protected
If you can
Believe my words
'cause I've seen
them crying that motherly yell at everyone
Not sparing even the ones who passed slightest of remark
over the shape you were turning into
I've felt
the overprotecting arms around you
They lifted you up
exactly the way they should have
You grew.
Yes. You grew!
That's what happened
out of your shell into this ugly world
yet you retained your beauty
You are not who you were to some
who cannot see and cannot hear
what your beauty look like
what your charm sound like
Remember the story they told you?
of A mighty elephant and the blind men
This is somewhat like that
but only better
trust me
You are on your own
Like them who nurtured you
Like everyone around
Like everything that exists.
Here comes the downer,
The falling from my pedestal,
Smashing my knees on the impact of the fall.
Thought I was so high and untouchable,
Now I’m a worm crawling across the floor.
Chewing at my skin to find the feeling,
Self-preservation in a tightly-wound cocoon.
Hollow on the inside,
The scream is nothing but a sigh,
Trying to hide the pain,
But this heart is shared and isn’t all mine to have.
A face painted with beauty that has no ego,
Is a watercolour that blurs in my mind.
I reach out and touch perfection,
It dissolves in ripples by my own hand.
Here comes the upper,
The muscle tightens as I run on scarred limbs.
High on my cathartic liberation,
For the first time my reflection meets my gaze.
Burning the pedestal,
There’s more to myself than my selfish needs,
So much to live for,
Time has an infinite story.
I search to find the limit to my own evolution,
Hindsight comes with the regret of being too slow.
