We are all born with our own special gifts…

I have a gift or two and I’m sure all of you do too.

Things that come naturally to us. 

Things we find easy to do.

It’s what makes us all unique…

and leads us to proclaim…

how no two people born…

will ever be the same….

Some gifts we realize early in life…

and immediately feel blessed…

while it may take more time to understand 

the other gifts that we possess.

But once we understand our gifts

not knowing when our sun will set

it’s up to us to use them…

every chance we get.

So when it’s our time to say goodbye…

when it comes to our gifts…both large and small…

we will be content to smile at the end of our life…and say:

when it came to our gifts…we used them all.

Whenever I see hate winning the battle over love…

and I cringe and cower and wince…

I am grateful for Antoine de Saint-Exupery 

and his story of the Little Prince.

For even a Little Prince who fell to the Earth

from out of the sky

knew It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;

what is essential is invisible to the eye
